Junior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer required for our Cork based client This is a fast paced, young, dynamic organization that develops a number of e-commerce web applications, delivering a high-performance system to global users. The Junior Site Reliability engineer will join an established team and get full training in aspects relating to the role.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an IT related degree and have 6 months+ work experience in Product support/application Support. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career with an exciting leader in its field.

What is involved

·        Handle issue queues and prioritise where needed, keeping those involved up to date informed with regular updates

·        Documenting standards, processes and procedures in relating to best practices, issues and resolutions

·        Respond to system escalations in relation to any failures in the service environment

·        Utilise Jira, Slack, and other operational and collaboration tools to work with internal resources to provide timely response and support

·        Participate in the product development process

·        Provide input of the impact of system features on operations

·        Participate in Site Reliability Engineer functions (including 24×7 on-call as needed)

 What is required

·        IT related degree

·        Work experience/Student placement in product support environment

·        Knowledge of the following;

o   Java applications

o   Linux environment

o   SQL Server

o   SQL scripting/ Shell scripting

·        Quick learner with excellent communication skills
