Job Description

How can you contribute?

Eurofins is currently accelerating the deployment of standard processes across its Laboratories. A key aspect is related to its Information Systems (EurIS) in which the central and regional web-based Marketing & Offer Applications ComLIMS are essentials.

The main objective of this position is to join the ComLIMS IT Solutions Development Team in Dublin (twelve persons) to evolution from User Interface / User Experience Perspective.

ComLIMS leverages recent Microsoft technologies (Angular, Visual Studio 2019, .NET Core) and a few SOA Integration patterns.

You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of high quality ComLIMS software by oneself and together with the team (including UI design, documentation) and be involved in UI/UX projects. You will join IT Team in Dublin, but always be in contact with Brussels team (“One Team”).

As UI/UX Designer your assignments will include:

  • Be an UX advocate, championing users at all levels, and making sure their voice is always heard
  • Work with BA to describe / Map the User Journey in the Application (creating storyboards, user flows, process flows, application maps..)
  • Ongoing user engagement and testing to make sure products are always aligned with user needs
  • Work iteratively with BA to create low fidelity mock-ups all the way to pixel perfect interactive prototypes
  • Help the Group UX Designer evolve and maintain the global Design System and Style Guide
  • Develop working relationships within the wider Eurofins IT community and with Eurofins user groups
  • Gather feedback regarding user satisfaction on existing applications

Also you will be asked to:

  • Ensure follow-up to your Manager on a regular basis and as often as requested.
  • Acquire rapidly a working knowledge of Eurofins EurIS systems, starting with ComLIMS, underlying concepts and model, as well as the processes and practices of the team
  • Deepen that knowledge on a continuous basis, guided by the most pressing needs of assigned functions.
  • Develop appropriate working relationships with IT and non-IT target groups in Eurofins. Actively support reuse and sharing within the wider EurIS community

Qualifications

You will have over 3 years experience working in the field (UX and visual design, ideally somebody who has worked on Corporate Applications, rather than just Web Sited or Public Mobile App ) with Graphical background. You will demonstrate experience using UX software to create interactive prototypes (preferably using Adobe XD, or able to learn it)

In addition you will have:

  • Good communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Collaboration and facilitation skills (able to compromise and find consensus)
  • Capacity to work on a widely distributed team (4 countries)
  • Critical, yet empathetic mindset (ability to see different perspectives and articulate pros/cons)
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Abile to develop and nurture business relationships

Not essential, however, would be plus:

  • Agile Principles and Scrum
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Formal training in UX
  • Task management tools (Microsoft Azure Devops Server (TFS), JIRA….)
