itContracting are currently seeking applicants on behalf of our client, a big data analytics company operating in the TV and advertising space, for a Senior Backend Developer, specialising in Python. This is a permanent position based with our client in Dublin City Centre, with part-time remote work options also available.
Our client is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to help build the next generation of TV measurement products. Our client’s large-scale TV measurement platform is currently used by some of the biggest broadcasters and advertisers in the US and is one of the largest TV viewing datasets in the world.
The successful candidate will join an existing Backend Development Team responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting existing and new client facing applications, primarily utilising the Python service for database access. The teams work in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) with team members in Europe and the US.

Responsibilities:
- Shaping the architecture and building out a suite of reporting and client facing products
- Continuously improving the process for building and developing products
- Making high impact decisions in technology that will help drive the wider company through the high growth stages
- Standardizing the way our client operates and maintains software
Requirements:
- Significant experience delivering at a Senior Developer level in an enterprise environment
- Practical experience of delivering in an Agile/ Scrum environment
- Excellent knowledge of Python and Microsoft SQL
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience of and an interest in optimisation of query logic
- Experience with AWS (EC2, S3), DevOps and administration
- Previous experience with data analytics is a major plus
- Experience with Big Data & Data Warehousing is a plus
- Full-stack experience with React/ Node.js would be great but not essential
