itContracting are currently seeking applications on behalf of our client, a global insurance provider and FinTech company, for an E-Mail Security Specialist. This is a permanent position based with our client in South Dublin.
The E-Mail Security Specialist will be responsible for supporting various IT projects and initiatives from a security and usability perspective. This will involve collaborating with external vendors and internal technical teams to ensure early-stage consideration of security in relation to the end-user experience and e-mail functionalities of the organisation. It will also involve ensuring relevant processes and technological initiatives reflect best industry security practices. You will be provided with guidance and training to facilitate your development within this role.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and implementing business requirements and making technical changes required to maintain secure e-mail services and Office 365 capabilities
- Assessing operational risks for e-mail as a service including Microsoft Azure and Office 365 functionalities
- Supporting our client’s dedicated IT Security team and various stakeholders on reducing endpoint attack surfaces
- Supporting the organisation’s IT security, risk and compliance technologies roadmap
- Consulting on projects and services for effective risk mitigation and control implementation while ensuring outstanding end-user experience
- Coordination and implementation of appropriate IT governance, metrics collection and reporting capabilities
- Enabling compliance with IT-related policies and regulatory requirements, while developing and supporting plans to remediate compliance gaps
- Tracking timely closure of identified control gaps and support action owners during issue remediation
Requirements:
- Experience of Microsoft Azure and Office 365
- Experience working with e-mail security capabilities and Microsoft related security technologies
- IT security certifications/ accreditations (i.e. Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCSK etc.) would be an advantage
- Relevant Computer Science or Cybersecurity related degree
- Experience writing inbound/ outbound mail filtering policy rules
- Solid understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model
- Experience (preferably within large enterprises) of providing technical support to projects or business teams operating within an associated field such as IT, information security, risk and/or compliance
- Knowledge of information and/or IT risk management standards and disciplines would be an advantage, particularly control frameworks such as; ISO 27000 series, NIST's Cyber Security Framework, SANS Critical Security Controls etc.
- Experience with security assessments and assessing cloud implementations
- Proven ability to succeed in collaborative work environments and build relationships
