IT Security Engineer - Cork

My client based in Cork is currently seeking a security engineer on a 6-month daily rate contract basis. The role will involve securing and protecting their environment, infrastructure, and transition of the hyper-converged infrastructure project (HCI).

Role

* Identify issues and assess solutions
* Ensure that security mechanisms are flexible to change with the platform itself
* Rollout policies and standards for admins when configuring networks and access controls
* HCI Platform encryption
* Intrusion detection system management and configuration

Requirements

* 3+ years' experience within an IT security focused position
* Qualifications or experience with Cisco, Checkpoint and Palo Alto
* Experience working with HCI environments e.g. VMWare vSAN
* Design and implementation experience with security processes and procedures
* Confident in explaining technical procedures to non technical staff
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Any security certifications are desirable such as CISSP, CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+
