What is the Role
The IT Solutions Delivery team is responsible for the delivery of all IT projects and programmes for the SSE Ireland business, delivering a wide range of interesting projects from Digital, Analytics, Customer Experience, Business Transformation, Regulation, Compliance and Infrastructure, and working closely with our business stakeholders across the SSE Ireland Retail business.
You'll head up a team of professionals, ranging from business analysts, developers and testers, ensuring in-house and 3rd-party delivery is of high quality and adds value to the SSE Ireland business as it undertakes a large-scale transformation.
The role requires effective engagement at IT Executive and Programme Management level and to be an advocate of best practice in IT delivery, ensuring the required business outcomes are delivered. You'll also hold accountability for defining and implementing a roadmap that supports excellent project management practice in different delivery methodologies, including agile, and enables effective automation, performance and other improvements.
What do I need?
We are looking for someone with exceptional communication and influencing skills who can operate as a subject matter expert and provide consultative advice to the business and IT management on all aspects of delivery, strategy and appropriate project methodologies. Experience of managing budgets and delivering projects using agile and waterfall methodologies will be essential. You'll also need a strong track record of delivering large programmes of work, and successfully implementing process improvements that increase quality and efficiency.
As a strong leader of people, you'll make sure that the right level of skills is in place for effective delivery of our projects. You will have previously held a similar level senior management role where you have been responsible for developing teams, performance management and the training and coaching of staff. You pride yourself in your natural ability to blend, collaborate and build strong relationships at all levels and are keen to contribute to strategic discussions. You'll bring high levels of motivation, resilience and gravitas, and wont be afraid the question the status quo.
