DevOps Engineer
The Role
The DevOps engineer will be an important member of the Engineering Excellence team. They work alongside delivery teams and their respective leaders to guarantee DevOps practices are understood and adhered to, and DevOps tools are being used optimally. They will partake in the design, development and delivery of DevOps solutions within their business portfolio in conjunction with the Engineering Excellence team.
Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer Role:
• Design, development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of Engineering Excellence solutions
• Responsible for configurations, upgrades, installations, troubleshooting, license management and support of our suite of SDLC tools used by our delivery teams
• Ensure product backlog has appropriate technical stories and participates in their prioritization
• Ensure the quality of existing and new features through both manual and automated testing and use of continuous Integration techniques
• Support the delivery teams in identifying and improving their SDLC practices and mastering their use of our suite of SDLC tools
• Collaborate with key stakeholders in the delivery of features
• Communicate daily with the Scrum Master or Technical Product Owner
Required Skills and Experience for the DevOps Engineer Role:
• Bachelor of Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent relevant business experience
• Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail
• Skilled in Agile development/methodologies.
• Familiarity with software configuration management systems and source code version control systems
• Knowledge to release engineering, configuration management, software development
• Takes an innovative approach to problem solving Specific qualifications and skills in DevOps practices and tools preferred
• Programming knowledge with exposure to Visual Studio IDEs and .NET environments, Java and Websphere
