Data Scientist - Galway

My client, a leading software consultancy, are currently seeking to expand their team with a Data Scientist. This is a significant opportunity to develop your career and thrive in a challenging and driven environment where you will focus on problem solving, creating solutions both internally and for customers, building and deploying data driven models and helping to improve customer experience.

The Role:

* Data engineering and exploring sensor data from equipment and machines
* Developing Machine Learning models
* Applying the latest machine learning techniques to solve important business problems
* Prototyping and deploying data driven web applications using programming languages such as R and/or Python
* Participating in an Agile/Scrum methodology
* Creating novel solutions to business problems to improve efficiency
* Liaising with other teams - both technical and non-technical across the company to showcase predictions and provide recommendations

Requirements:

* Comfortable exploring engineering and sensor data
* Strong mathematical background - ideally a Masters Degree
* Experience working with languages such as R or Python
* Working knowledge of SQL
* Knowledge of a Big Data language would be an advantage
* Working knowledge of Azure or AWS would be an advantage
* Strong visualization technology experience
* Ability and drive to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Openness to occasional travel
