Responsibilities of the ETL Consultant Role:
• Participate in full software development lifecycle for large-scale Data Warehouse and ETL Development projects.
• Work as part of a fast-paced agile Development Team.
• Support Test Team across all phases of testing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Data Warehouse implementation methodologies across logical, conceptual and physical modelling as well as best practice control frameworks.
• Demonstrate a working understanding of all aspects of Master Data Management and Advanced Data Science.
• Deliver high quality, performant solutions through advanced SQL coding and database engine performance tuning.
• Participate in and conduct code reviews and design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cloud and non-relational database technologies
• Assist Project Managers and Data Architects with project planning and estimation; confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
• Coordinate and manage change requests.
• Work closely with Business Intelligence and Reporting Teams & assist in development of dynamic dashboard solutions.
• Assist with organisation wide data architecture review, recommending appropriate initiatives, enhancements and development opportunities for utilization to meet business area goals and drive business growth.
• Prepare and deliver high quality presentations and project reports for management and clients.
Required Skills and Experience for the ETL Consultant Role:
• Experience in all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle with good perception of Database / Data Warehouse values and methodologies.
• ETL Tools: Talend, SSIS, Informatica, Pentaho, Data Integration or T-SQL
• Data warehousing engines: SQL Server, Teradata, and PostgreSQL
• Big Data Technologies e.g. Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Storm
