Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Engineer will work as part of a team of Network Engineers responsible for the end-to-end ownership of all aspects of the technology underpinning the nationwide network infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer Role:
• Provision of network services, ensuring availability of network infrastructure to agreed service levels, in-line with business requirements.
• Pro-active management of network infrastructure/technologies, ensuring maximum availability and minimum downtime.
• Provision of 2nd and 3rd tier support for networking technologies, assisting the troubleshooting of incidents within the network core and production environments.
• Manage and support of multiple projects, providing guidance on the application of network technology in business solutions.
• Assist GTS development teams on the delivery of the network related components within new company projects and initiatives.
• Ensure existing network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, load balancers, VPNs etc.) is maintained and enhanced. Planning and managing the installation/upgrade of specific H/W, S/W or O/S technologies
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to other team members, contributing to training and mentoring.
• Lead the network team in the development of specific technological projects.
• Communicate with colleagues/users/clients in a manner that enhances their understanding of specific technologies.
• Assist with Tender creation and evaluation for all future Network support and service contracts
Required Skills and Experience for the Senior Network Engineer Role:
• 5 - 7+ years’ Experience Required
• Excellent IP networking fundamentals
• Knowledge of firewall technologies
• Knowledge of load balancing technologies
• Experience of implementing technology initiatives within large organisations.
• Experience in the use and output analysis of packet sniffing technologies.
• Proven ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills & methodology across all layers of the OSI model
• In depth knowledge of emerging network/technological developments and a desire to learn new skills & technologies.
• Ability to take projects from beginning to end with little direct supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Minimum Cisco CCNP R&S and/or CCNP Security level certifications
