Technical Assurance Specialist - Infrastructure Technologies - Permanent
itContracting are pleased to be partnering with our client, a leading financial services company with EMEA headquarters in Dublin, in the hiring of a Technical Assurance Specialist to manage the delivery of enterprise infrastructure technologies to the global business.
This is a role requiring strong, architect level technical and engineering knowledge of a variety of infrastructure, database and mainframe technologies and vendor and third party provider relationship management experience. You will be working on a daily basis with leading technology providers to deliver critical infrastructure to a global business with millions of customers. You will be an Operational Architect within the organisation.
You will ensure the quality of service and advisory services to the business and be a key point of contact for suppliers, internal IT partners, the external market and customers and the internal business. Your role will be critical in ensuring continued quality of service delivery, that infrastructure resources are standardised and optimised to their full potential and value and to drive infrastructure related projects from a service level.
You will work closely with stakeholders internally and within technology providers and third-party suppliers and have responsibility for ensuring SLAs are met and that technology is delivered to the organisation in the best way possible.
Experience:
* Ideally educated to degree level in an IT or related discipline or equivalent experience with proven continued learning
* You will have achieved a senior level in an enterprise grade environment in a complex infrastructure related role
* Strong experience with platform infrastructure technologies, ideally in a financial services, insurance or banking environment
* Subject Matter Expert experience with ideally either Database technologies such as SQL, Oracle and/or DB2 or IBM mainframe technologies e.g. iSeries (AS400) or pSeries or equivalents
* Subject Matter Expertise in at least one of the following technologies/areas: Networking, Virtualisation, Database Design and Deployment (in particular SQL based databases or DB2), Cloud Computing, Mainframe computing, Datacentre Engineering, Disaster Recovery, High Availability infrastructure, Wintel and Linux server infrastructure
* Excellent supplier/vendor relationship management skills and experience and proven ability in negotiation, contract agreements and driving value for money for large-scale organisations
* Good understanding of Service Delivery (Change, Problem, Incident and Release Management)
