Software Test Engineer

Our client researches and develops innovative, high quality solutions designed to make diagnostic testing more accurate. They are now looking for a Software Test Engineer to join their team at their headquarters in Crumlin.

As a Software Test Engineer, you will be tasked with designing, creating, executing and reviewing software test plans to support our client’s high quality healthcare diagnostic products. 

You’ll work on software test plans, test cases and results reports alongside Design, Software and Hardware Engineers and help to deliver new products through vital testing. 

Specifically, your role will involve: 

- Improving the quality, functionality, reliability and usability of products 
- Developing test strategies for one or more areas of a products 
- Creating comprehensive test plans for differing software design methodologies 
- Acquiring the data for testing assignments 
- Performing thorough test cases executions and analysis 

Interested? To be considered, you’ll need: 

- At least two years’ software test experience OR a higher-level qualification in a computer-related discipline 
- Demonstrable expertise in the area of software testing 
- Good knowledge of software testing processes and testing methodologies such as V-Model, Waterfall and Agile 
- Experience of using an issues and/or problem reporting tool 

As a Software Test Engineer, you must be able to work independently in a structured fashion and use initiative. An organised, logical approach will be key, as will strong communication skills and excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

Familiarity with at least two of the following programming languages is desirable but not essential: C#, C++, Delphi, VB and Java.
