Desktop Environment Hardware Platform Manager
itContracting are pleased to be partnering with our client, a global leader in financial services and fund investments, in the hiring of a Senior IT Manager to lead the management of an enterprise desktop environment and associated hardware platforms. This is a permanent position based in South Dublin.
You will be leading the support of a major end-user workplace and environment, focused on the effective delivery of desktop hardware, peripherals and associated services and applications. You will be a global SME for the services and have end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of the desktop environment, from IT Strategy to meet the demands of the business, to development, procurement, supply chain and logistics, device and asset registers and catalogues, hardware availability and provisioning, vendor and supplier management and acting as a senior escalation point of all incidents and issues. You will assume a high level of ownership and responsibility for the effective running of the end-user computing environment.
Experience:
* Ideally educated to degree level in a Computer Science or IT related discipline or equivalent industry experience
* A minimum of 5 years at a senior level in IT Operations, Service Desk Management and/or IT Management with a focus on managing large-scale desktop and user environments (ideally 1000 + users)
* Excellent experience in hardware procurement, supply, financing models, vendor and supplier management, including contract negotiation and SLA management
* Able to communicate and work at senior levels with a matrixed, multinational environment
* Strong consulting mindset
* Team management skills and resource coordination
* Deep understanding of desktop environments and associated hardware, including peripherals and mobile devices
* SME level experience on Desktop hardware and applications such as OS
* Strong knowledge of ITSM and Ticketing tools, Service Delivery and Management
* Relevant industry qualifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix etc. are highly beneficial
