My client, a fast-growing organisation with big ambitions, are currently seeking a Principal/Lead Developer to assume a critical role within this organisation. The successful Principal Developer will provide technical expertise for the design and development of the new platform, as well as leading a small development team.

Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 5 years commercial experience with PHP application development
* Framework experience highly desirable: Laravel/Symfony preferred
* Competent working with Frontend technologies - HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
* Previous experience with JavaScript frameworks - React preferred
* PostgreSQL experience ideal
* Experience building architecture for large-scale features
* Object-orientated programming experience
* Previous experience with database design, data modelling and implementing large scale databases
* Comfortable deploying servers in cloud infrastructure environments
* Excellent communication skills and comfortable sitting in on high level business discussions
* Leadership skills essential - previous experience in a lead role desirable but not essential
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop new technology platform
* Contribute to all phases from technical design through to system integration
* Provide strong leadership to the agile team, offering direction and motivation
* Oversee feature development, ensuring they are built in line with user requirements
* Work with management to agree upon timelines and roadmaps
