FRS Recruitment are delighted to announce a new Linux Systems Engineer position with our client in Galway.

Role outline:As a Linux Systems Engineer you will develop and enhance a Linux based end-to-end solution that provides remote connectivity, remote deployment and telemetry features for various product groups within the organisation


Background:

* 2+ years of Linux systems development
* Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming language
* Strong knowledge of Linux internals, Linux system administration, the Linux filesystem and
* the Bash shell
* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking including IPv6, DNS, and DHCP
* Strong knowledge of Perl and regular expressions
* Good understanding of security including the SSL/TLS protocols and OpenSSL
Other desired skills and experience:

* Use of source code control systems, such as Github.
* Linux packaging (rpm, dpkg etc)
* Good knowledge of SSH operation and in particular OpenSSH
* Good knowledge of PKI and X.509 certificates
* Good knowledge of VirtualBox and/or VMware
* Personal skills and attributes
* Strong verbal and written communication skills through English
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills; technical curiosity
* Self-motivated, accountable, and having a sense of ownership; take pride in what you code
* Good team-working skills
Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience

* A BSc or MSc degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics
