Job Description:
* Consultant Architect for the Architecture Services team specialising in Cloud and onsite server and storage technologies.
* The selected candidate will be part of the team focused on delivery of Cloud Computing and Global Hosting Center based systems serving Ireland while ensuring onsite systems are upgraded to needed standards
* This includes SQL and OS upgrades to existing Windows/SQL 2008 systems.
Responsibilities:
Candidate will act as Technical Lead for IT projects requiring IT system architecture.
Work will include:
* Requirements gathering from existing systems, end users, vendors, IT and security teams.
* Creation or update of design documents and system diagrams related to project.
* Interact with global and local Cloud and business teams as required to commission systems.
* Request changes related to implementation through appropriate local and global change request systems
* Escalate issues appropriately to global teams and service managers.
* Ensure signoff on all technical deliverables of projects.
* Participate in global group forums and meetings.
* Develop Run Sheets in support of migration work.
* Develop/update local procedures in support of new or changed systems/services.
* Ensure compliance with global and local security and technology standards at all times.
Requirements:
* Education / Professional Qualifications:
* Candidates should possess a third level qualification in an IT related discipline or alternatively, a general primary degree followed by a postgraduate IT qualification
* Industry qualifications such VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA or MCSE desirable.
Experience Required:
* 4 or more years' relevant post qualification experience including at least one year of IT Infrastructure Design.
* Experience should include working in multi-site environment.
Technical Experience in several of the following core Infrastructure technologies:
* HPe Server hardware including HPe iLO management
* VMware ESXi including Site Recovery Manager, Horizon View and vCenter.
* Windows 2012/Windows 2016 including Active Directory design
* Microsoft Systems Center including installation of SCCM, SCOM, and SCOrch.
* Cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
* Security systems including McAfee, Microsoft security stack, and Cyberark
* Knowledge of networking, firewalls, DNS, DHCP and IP address configuration.
* Monitoring systems including VMware Operations Mgr, HP-SIM and the Azure Portal.
Additional Skills:
Candidate should have the following skills:
* IT Design preparation with track record of providing multiple system designs including details of servers, storage, networking, security configuration and management roles.
* Strong IT troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose quickly and escalate as needed.
* Preparation of test plans, change control documentation and IT procedures in support of new systems.
* Process and standards orientated with track record of process creation and updates.
* Committed to quality and excellence.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to work with vendors, other technical teams and end users.
* Committed to continuous improvement in service delivery - reimagine the possible.
