Technical Support Engineers - Contract
itContracting are pleased to be partnering with our client, a growing company within the aviation sector, in the hiring of Technical Support Engineers to support Level 1 - 2 IT activities in their Dublin City Centre office. There are two Levels of position available, Level 1 and Level 2.
This is an opportunity to join a growing IT department supporting a fast moving and highly interesting company and sector. This is a contract opportunity with expected duration of 1 year. Participation in a shift rota is required in this role, however this will not involve working overnight or weekends.
This will be a varied role, requiring day-to-day operational support of systems, applications and users, through to working on standalone and long-term projects.
Depending on experience and level, responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring and Administration of a Windows based desktop and laptop network
* Asset and Inventory management
* Hardware and network troubleshooting
* Remote and deskside user support
* Troubleshooting Desktop, Laptop and mobile device Operating Systems and Hardware
* Installing and Reimaging of OS
* Administration of users through Active Directory
* Managing of Exchange mailboxes
* Backup Management and Support
* Monitoring of Windows based servers
* Leading small to medium scale projects such as upgrades, implementations, new application deployments and general improvements to the IT infrastructure
Experience:
* 1-3 years in a similar role supporting users and IT infrastructure and applications in a busy environment for a Level 1 position. 3-5 years in similar for Level 2
* Ideally you will hold a 3rd level degree, Certificate or Diploma in a Computer Science/IT related discipline
* Experience of support Windows OS up to and including Windows 10
* Desktop, laptop and mobile device hardware support and troubleshooting
* Knowledge of Networking and protocols
* Experience in administration using Active Directory and Exchange
* For Level 2 experience supporting and troubleshooting Server environments along with knowledge of Routing and Switching, Appliance Security and Security software such as antivirus and anti-malware will be expected. Knowledge of virtualization using Hyper-V and/or VMware would be an advantage
* You should also have attained a vendor and industry certification such as CompTIA (Network +, Server + etc.), MCP/MCSA/MCDST and/or CCNA
