Release Engineer [Ant, XML, Python, Java, Bash/Shell, Bat/PowerShell, SQL, PL-SQL]

Role:
Our client is a leading provider of financial services in Ireland.

Responsibilities:
Release Management
* Executing releases, deployments, patches and change requests within SLAs
* Manage coding and release workshops
* Rollback and DR scenarios, war rooms as required
* Developing automation routines that fit the overall aims of the business and adhere to established best practice
* Risk analysis, issue resolution, RCA, reporting and preventing
Environment Management
* Liaise with team on management of test and production environments
* Recommend improvements to processes around environments, support efficient usage and delivery of test environments
Change Management
* Assist in standardizing change management under the wider umbrella of Release Management processes
* Execute change control procedures for delivering releases across environments
* Maintain formal log of release activities to demonstrate governance and to support Audit and compliance requirements
SCM and Tools
* Adhering to best practice for SCM / Version control
* Providing guidance in using ALM Tools
* Evaluate and recommend suitable build/release/deployment tools where none exist within the organisation
Configuration and Deployment Management
* Adhering to configuration management best practices
* Ownership of automation (code and configuration) processes across systems
* Tracking, monitoring, responding to defects associated with code deployments

Requirements:
* Software Development Lifecycle (Waterfall, Scrum, TDD)
* Application Lifecycle Management tools and process (Microsoft TFS, Serena Team Track, Serena Business Manager, etc.)
* Test Processes / Methodologies
* Application and technical architectures
* Build / Test management tools and processes (automated/manual) including Subversion, GIT, Maven/Ant, Nexus, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.
* Application Servers - JBOSS, WebLogic, WebSphere, etc.
* Proven track record managing high query volumes from multiple business stakeholders within SLA
* Relevant third level qualification or professional equivalent
* UNIX / Linux knowledge and experience
* Scripting - Ant, XML, Python, Java, Bash/Shell, Bat/PowerShell, SQL, PL-SQL, etc.
* Database Tools / Scripting - Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB
* Automation - Deployment automation, configuration management automation
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to communicate with project team & stakeholders
* Ability to write concise documentation
* Excellent verbal & written communication skills
* Proven experience in working with stakeholders on solution design & delivery

Nice to Have(s):
* Temenos T24, TAFJ experience
* JBPM experience
* Prior work within a highly Regulated environment
* Prior experience working in the financial sector
