Title
Java Developer
My client is an institution of the European Union, they are currently on the lookout for a Java Developer, for an initial 12-month contract based in Brussels.

Responsibilities of the Java Developer Role:
• Development, deployment, integration (with other applications) and maintenance of software applications (including components) following the standards and methodologies established by the Contracting Authority and in line with the established user requirements.
•
• Elaboration of test programs.
• Creation of technical documentation following the standards and methodologies established by the Contracting Authority.
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system.
• Participation in meetings with the project teams.
Required skills for the Java Developer Role:
• Knowledge of web application development environments.
• Knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tier applications.
• Knowledge about responsive, multi-device development (e.g. desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone).
• Experience of modelling tools (e.g. UML).
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, AGILE).
• Knowledge of relational database management systems (MS SQL and/or Oracle 11g).
• Knowledge of Application Servers (Oracle WebLogic Server and/or Apache Tomcat).
• Very good knowledge of ECLIPSE (or NetBeans) IDE.
• Very good knowledge of JAVA EE platform, JAVA Programming Frameworks (JSF, SPRING, HIBERNATE, etc.).
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments.
• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication.
• Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment.
Qualifications and Experience of the Java Developer Role:
• Bachelor’s level or 3+ years of higher education.
• Minimum 10 years of IT professional experience.
