SQL Server DBA Contract (Great Day Rate)

The Role:

As a SQL Server DBA, you will have the responsibility to provide database and application solution strategy, technical design, architecture and support for carrying out the implementation of enterprise database development.
Incorporating commercial, off the shelf solutions with the organisation`s internally created software solutions and legacy IT systems. Focusing on database modelling, optimisation, modernisation and performance improvement.

Requirements:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Day to day database administration, monitoring of system performance, backups and alerts
* Writing code to automate simple, boring and recurring functions
* Strong SQL skills (2012 - 2016)
* Code review, contributing to team direction and planning the projects the team will be working on over the next 12 months
* Owning a new technology, trial it, and set it up to become a key system to be used by THG in the Database team
* Technically curious, always looking to learn new technologies and ways to do things
* Ambitious to progress through the ranks and work with junior members of the team
* Self-starter who actively seeks out new ways to solve new and old problems
* Passionate about Data technologies and how it can contribute business value
* Attention to detail with the ability to build, maintain and diagnose problems with a focus on accuracy and precision
* Self-starter who actively seeks out new ways to solve new and old problems

DESIREABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

* 2-3 years competency in SQL
* Held a recent role dedicated to SQL (such as DBA, database developer, technical support)
* Working knowledge with relational database architecture
* Investigative and debugging experience using SQL
* Drive, motivated, team player
