Role Overview 

  

The Network Operations Centre (NOC) Team is responsible for providing 24x7x365 monitoring and operational support of our Managed Detection and Response service delivery infrastructure and our internal corporate IT systems. NOC Analysts triage, investigate, resolve or escalate a wide range of server and network issues supporting our SOC, Customer Experience and Systems teams globally. The desired candidate is detail oriented with good Linux administration skills, has a solid foundation in networking and demonstrates excellence in high volume/ high-pressure situations. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous monitoring of all services, alerts and critical systems and respond appropriately to ensure continuous and uninterrupted availability of resources 
  • Perform investigations into reported host and interface issues 
  • Respond to queries from Security Operations and other client facing teams 
  • Solve issues as efficiently and as accurately as possible in a team-oriented professional culture 
  • Schedule and perform server upgrades including post upgrade validation checks 
  • Updating assigned NOC Tickets providing timely and detailed information 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Level degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, and training 
  • Proficiency with Ubuntu Linux Operating Systems with the ability to perform general administrative tasks using the command line interface (CLI) 
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols and troubleshooting tools 
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills 
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities 
  • Good communications skills (verbal and written) 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with one or more IT/Network monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, Nagios, Icinga etc) 
  • Experience with writing or updating technical documentation  
  • Previous experience with Knowledge Base and trouble ticketing systems (Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow) 
  • Scripting experience in one or more languages (Bash, Python) 
  • Relevant Industry Certifications, eg CompTIA Linux+, Network+
