Red Chair Recruitment is looking for a Senior Linux System Engineer to work within our client's technical delivery team in Kerry.
About You:
- Common sense attitude
- Good communicator (we work globally so strong written and verbal skills are an absolute requirement)
- Have experience in a similar position (5+ years)
- Solid understanding of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems
- Proven troubleshooting skills and analytical mind set
- Team orientated and happy to reach out for assistance or assist others
- Automation/scripting experience is highly desirable
- Experience supporting Oracle RAC highly desirable
- Experience with enterprise storage (EMC) and networking (Cisco)
- Experience training/mentoring junior staff advantageous
Requirements:
- Operating system engineering (Linux)
- RPM based Linux distributions
- RAC
- PowerPath, Multipath
- kickstart, cobbler
- System performance assessment and OS tuning
- Scripting (bash, ksh, nsh, python, perl)
- Integrate new technologies into environment working directly with the Architecture teams
- Produce and maintain internal knowledgebase articles
- Service application and infrastructure requests
- Provide expertise during critical issue response
- On-call and out of hours support on rotation
- A valid passport and ability to travel to the USA
