Data Engineer Contract (Great Day Rate)
Our leading Financial Services client is actively recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer to join their advanced analytics team based in Dublin for a 6 Month initial Contract.
Using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Oracle you will be developing solutions for managing both structured and unstructured data with an end goal to deploy using cloud technologies.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
* Understanding of Big Data technologies and solutions.
* 2+ years of maintaining data warehouse systems and working on large scale data transformation using SQL, Hadoop, Hive, or other Big Data technologies.
* Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, Ruby, or C#/C++, JavaScript, Python, etc.).
* Experience communicating with senior management as well as with colleagues from engineering, analytics, and business backgrounds.
* Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, problem-solving and complexity analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
* Advanced knowledge and expertise with data modelling skills, advanced SQL with Oracle and Postgres.
* 4+ years of demonstrated quantitative and qualitative data science experience leading to software service and business improvements.
* 3+ years of Software development experience with in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, Ruby, or C#/C++, JavaScript, Python, etc).
* Experience with AWS systems - S3, Redshift, Dynamo DB.
