Job title: Web Developer - 12 months daily rate - Galway, Ireland

Length: 12 months daily rate, there is a possible 12 month extension after this.

Start date: 1st of October or as soon after.

Support: We will help you every step of the way in understanding the job, preparing for an interview, organising accommodation and the location. We will also explain how to set up a Ltd/umbrella company, submit timesheets etc. We will also meet/skype you before the interview.

Public Sector Body Information:

This public sector body is responsible for supporting one of Ireland's natural resources, this includes promoting sustainable development through strategic funding and research. They have four offices across the country and 150 people in this Public Sector Body.

Project: You will be developing and designing the Public Sector Body's websites and related online services. The current websites are built using Drupal (versions 7 and 8) with integrated online applications developed using Microsoft.Net, SQL Server and JavaScript. The Web Developer will work with approximately 7 other team members, to develop and support the websites and related software services further as business requirements arise. The Web Developer will work with the Applications Development team, which is managed by the Applications Development Manager.

Web Developer duties:

You will work with the team to carry out a range of design and development functions to support the development and maintenance of websites and online information services, including to:

* Provide technical design for websites and online service solutions;
* Develop, support and maintain websites based on the Drupal 7/8 platform, including configurations, addition of new modules and backups;
* Develop, support and maintain online services based on the .Net framework (version 4.5+), C#, ASP.Net;
* Develop online data visualisations e.g. using JavaScript libraries to integrate into websites;

You will support and upgrade existing websites and related applications using Drupal with some JavaScript and .Net development work to develop and integrate web applications.

Web Developer Skillsets:

Mandatory

* 7+ years' experience with development, support and maintenance of Drupal 7 or 8 based websites. Must have experience with deployment of Drupal modules, newsletter and scheduling, multilingual configuration, and management of website backups.
* Experience of software development including Microsoft .Net framework (version 4.5+), C#, ASP.Net, SQL Server and software development processes, including for code deployment. Skills and knowledge transfer to external Client(s)
* Level 7 or 8 degree in IT or equivalent.

Desirable

* Experience with the public sector
