Do you have experience of covering a 24/7 operation? Are you a wizard at dealing with technical issues? Or perhaps you have had exposure to dealing directly with customers? We are looking for a dedicated Operations Assistant to work as part of a busy operations team and provide daily support to customers and staff alike, by coordinating and administering incoming and outgoing deliveries. Alongside this, you will also ensure that the facilities are maintained and kept in a clean and professional manner at all times. Importantly, you will also facilitate the smooth flow of information (so tasks can be carried out efficiently and professionally) and also identify and resolve related issues in order to meet the business requirements.

Responsibilities

Installations

* You will Assists the Operations Team in Customer Installations

Queue Management

* Updates customers on assets and deliveries via the Siebel queue and ensures alignment to all pre-defined SLAs

Cross Connects

* Assists Operations Team with running Structured Cabling

Documentation/Reporting

* Maintains detailed written records of all work activity

* Maintains a log on internal systems of incoming and outgoing deliveries, in line with company procedure, both for accounting and accountability purposes

Projects

* Supports fulfillment of projects with direction from senior staff

Training

* Finishes the assigned training in a timely manner

Customer Management

* Supports customer happiness through timely and precise order execution

Operational Support

* Operates and co-ordinates incoming and outgoing deliveries, both for internal and external customers, providing prompt and efficient responses and explains on-site procedures. This also includes goods lift supervision during deliveries

* Lifts equipment up to and in excess of 25kgs - correct Lifting equipment to be utilized where necessary

* Supervises contractors carrying out work within the Data Centre

* Maintains a secure site by rigidly following and applying security procedures

* Ensures health & safety guidelines is followed and raises any issues deemed to be detrimental to cause a hazard

* Assists Operations and Facilities staff as required

Datacentre Maintenance

* Maintains and cleans the site to a suitably professional level, ensuring no items attributed to deliveries cause a hazard

* Ensures datacentre waste due to deliveries and customer equipment is disposed of in accordance with Equinix policies and procedures

Requirements

Essential

* Computer-literacy / IT skills (email, internal systems, Internet etc.). Overall baseline computer knowledge and familiarity (Window Platform)

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

* Experience of working night shifts an advantage (please note that you will work towards developing into a Datacentre Technician position which will be shift based and cover a 24/7 operation)

Desirable

* Knowledge of the Datacentre environment

* Experience in Customer Service / Operation Centres / Datacentres / Warehouses / Logistics / Asset Management

* Knowledge of structured cabling systems

* Knowledge of Logistics / warehouse systems

* Certificate in IT preferred or equivalent experience

* Experience/qualification in Manual Handling
