MS BI Developer

My client is seeking to hire a MS BI Developer with MDX experience to join their team. You will be based in my clients R&D Centre in Claregalway, Co. Galway. This is excellent opportunity to join a company who are continuing to join and expand their global operations. Last year they were in a start-up/ greenfield phase and since this time they have built a team of highly talented individuals.

Role overview:
• Ability to work in a team environment;
• Lead and or Architect solutions;
• Perform pre-sales activities including demonstrations, proof of concepts (POCs), and participate in business and technical client meetings;
• Ability to work independently;
• Execute design specifications, report specifications, and logical database and or OLAP solutions as directed by senior team members.

Required skills:
• 7+ years of experience with relational and dimensional database modeling;
• 5+ years of experience with Analysis Services / OLAP technologies;
• Programming experience with T-SQL Stored Procedures and SQL Server Integration Services packages;
• Programming experience with MDX and SQL Server Analysis Services cubes;
• Extensive Integration Services experience including variables, package configurations, and logging;
• Experience configuring Dimension properties, attributes, and hierarchies in SQL Server Analysis Services with Business Intelligence Development Studio;
• Knowledge of configuring Perspectives in SQL Server Analysis Services with Business Intelligence Development Studio;
• Experience creating Data Source Views and calculated columns in SQL Server Analysis Services with Business Intelligence Development Studio;
• Knowledge of Dynamic Dimension Security and Role Based Security in SQL Server Analysis Services;
• Knowledge of dimensional data analysis within Excel using pivot tables, spark lines, slicers, and pivot charts;
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to work collaboratively with data coordinators and program administrators within the department to extract and analyze data for internal and public data requests;
• Exceptional dimensional data analysis and problem solving capabilities;
• Experience configuring SharePoint sites and PerformancePoint services;
• Experience in authoring SQL Server Reporting Services reports against relational and dimensional data sources with Business Intelligence Development Studio;
• Experience in authoring PerformancePoint Dashboards and dashboard items such as KPIs, Reports, Indicators, Scorecards, and Filters with PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer;
• Experience configuring SQL Server Reporting Services in Native and SharePoint Integrated modes;
• Ability to lead business discussions and business design sessions with clients;
• Ability to lead roadmap sessions with business decision makers and formulate solution design documents based on the outcomes;
• Experience with tuning SSAS cubes;
• Experience with VLBD using SQL Server as a data platform.
