Role Summary/Overall Responsibility

This is a newly created role on our System Administration Team. Reporting to the Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of companywide (geographically distributed) servers/desktop/application infrastructure with some elements of Network administration.

Main Functions: 

• support and administration of various Application servers/systems 

• administration and support of company servers hardware and software systems 

• deployment, administration and support of company Network infrastructure 

• create and maintain full documentation for relevant systems 

• monitor and analyse system performance 

• actively improve operations, policies and procedures 

• handle escalations from general IT help desk team

Essential Qualifications and Experience: 

• IT Degree (or some directly related experience) 

• 3 years+ experience in Linux System administration 

• Must have EU Work Permit

Additional (desired) Qualifications and Experience: 

• 1 year+ experience in Windows System administration 

• 1 year+ experience in Application administration/support 

• 1 years+ experience in Network administration a plus 

• Finance Industry experience a definite advantage 

Essential Technical Knowledge and Skills: 

• strong administration skills of Linux System (specifically Debian/RHEL distros) 

• true low level full-remote admin experience 

• efficiency in shell scripting 

• working knowledge of Linux Firewalling with Shorewall/IPTables 

• understanding of Virtualization concepts (working knowledge of libvirt/kvm definite advantage) 

• understanding of system monitoring concepts and previous exposure to Nagios/Icinga 

• understanding and working knowledge of data/systems backup solutions

• understanding and operational knowledge of Unix/Linux side SSH, SSL IPsec and PKI 

• excellent documentation skills 

• IPv4 basics including exposure to routing

Additional (desired) Technical Knowledge and Skills: 

• working knowledge of OpenLDAP, Apache2, Postfix, BIND, Dovecot, Samba 

• efficiency in python scripting and/or working knowledge of Ansible

• understanding of HA concepts (working knowledge of corosync/pacemaker definite advantage) 

• understanding of SQL and working knowledge in administration of relational database (MySQL, PostgreSQL) 

• IPv4 basics including exposure to routing 

• basic knowledge of Cisco iOS (CCNA level or higher)

• basic Windows sysadmin level with working knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services Administration

- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) 

- Desire to increase knowledge and to learn new and/or improve skills 

Remuneration
