Java Developer - Galway
PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for full software development lifecycle of modules or features of new or upgraded software systems and products according to project plans and priorities in an agile fashion.
* Interact with internal cross-functional members to better understand system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
* Come up with solutions/implementations to consistently improve product stability, scalability, and performance.
* Proactively identify non-compliance of code against requirements/standards/design and raise defects.
* Mentor junior team member
* Troubleshoot, analyze, replicate, regress and resolve complex field software problems escalated to engineering and developing code fixes or enhancements to be included in future code releases or patches.
Required Skills:
* Strong hands-on proficiency with Java SE/EE
* Practical experience with web service concepts (protocols and frameworks) such as REST, SOAP, and WSDL
* Proficiency with the SQL and Object/Relational Mapping technologies such as JPA/Hibernate
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate in a team-oriented, geographically distributed development environment
* Experience in multi-threaded programing and object-oriented design.
* Experience in advanced design concepts like Design Patterns
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with dependency injection/middleware frameworks such as Spring
* Experience with natural language understanding technologies in the area of text based application (e.g. chatbots)
* Experience with cloud technologies such as the AWS toolstack
* Proficiency with presentation-layer technologies such as JSP, JSF, CSS, HTML, Javascript, and AJAX
* Experience performing database administration and maintenance tasks with MSSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
* Experience with source control, build management, test, dependency, and continuous integration platforms including Subversion, JUnit, Ant/Ivy, Maven, Jenkins or TeamCity
* Ability to develop and debug on multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux, and OS X
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* 3+ years of experience.
* Degree in technical or engineering field. B.S. in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics or related discipline minimum
* Travel to customer sites on need basis.
* Participate in on-call rotation
