Our client is currently looking for an experienced Senior JEE developer to join our high energy R&D department. We want a highly motivated developer to be part of an agile development team within a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role which will involve design, reviews, coding and trouble shooting. The position will be based at their headquarters in Limerick, Ireland.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Analyse and design in Java/Java JEE environment
* Develop high-level system architecture designs
* Drive these designs through development, testing, documentation and delivery
* Review design, functional specifications and code
* Create and review test plans and test tools
* Contribute to continuous process improvements
* Install and deliver developed applications to customer sites
* Report on project progression to Senior Management
* Willingness to work as part of a team and provide team mentoring

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will have a relevant degree, a minimum of 6 years industry experience (at least 4 years using Java) and a strong background in the following areas:

* Strong Java and OO skills
* Standard OO design patterns
* ORM frameworks such as Hibernate
* RDBMS experience encompassing schema design
* PL/SQL having used: MySQL, Oracle, PostGreSQL
* Spring Core Framework including Spring web flow, Spring MVC
* Architecture and design skills
* Maven and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
* Virtualisation, Cloud-based Applications, Amazon AWS, VM-ware, EC-2
* Participation in the full software development lifecycle
* Software quality processes
* Development on a Linux/Unix platform
* Agile development methods, like SCRUMs and SPRINTs
