Managed Services Team Lead - Dublin
Digital Planet is Ireland's leading Cloud Services Provider, providing flexible, secure and highly available systems to a wide range of Irish and international clients. Digital Planet is seeking a Monitoring Service Owner to join our growing support team.
Responsibilities:
Your purpose as the Monitoring Service Owner is to be responsible for developing and delivering a global infrastructure monitoring solution for all Evros customers. This position requires technical proficiency in monitoring solutions as well as an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills. The role will be based in our Cherrywood head office.
Tasks will involve:
* Architect and implement multi-tenant monitoring solutions across multiple geographical locations.
* Serve as a primary point of contact for monitoring across the enterprise
* Design monitoring requirements in coordination with development and operations
* Lead a team to build, maintain, and support a global packet capture, change validation, log management and monitoring infrastructure
* Investigate network, system, and application anomalies using alerts, TCP/IP traces, captures, and logs
* Document changes and author documentation on monitoring standards and practices
* Integrate the monitoring into business processes including our 24x7 NOC, RMM & PSA platforms, asset management and documentation systems.
The Candidate:
* Excellent knowledge of SNMP and agent base monitoring solutions
* Good understanding of packet capture devices and architecture
* Fundamental understanding of server operating systems and networking
* Strong knowledge of scripting in Linux, Windows, Perl, PowerShell, python, regex
* TCP/IP networking and analysis skills
* Data analysis skills and competence
* Experience working with a ticketing system, ITIL experience a plus
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A keen eye for detail
* Full clean driving license
* Good analytical/troubleshooting skills and willing to learn new technologies
* Some experience of industry standard IT equipment and their components, including: rack mountable server, switch and blade technology
Skills and experience:
* At least 5 years' experience in a customer-facing technical role for a Managed Service Provider or a multi-national organisation and/or
* At least 2 years' experience working in a technical leadership role such as team or technical lead.
* Excellent core infrastructure skills (Compute, Network, Storage, Virtualisation, backup) a significant advantage.
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
* Technical qualification or equivalent experience in a managed service provider.
Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in CIS, engineering, or a related discipline
* Experience in at least on of: Kaseya, Solarwinds, Splunk, Manage Engine, Nagios, HP Operations, Managed Workplace.
* Experience with the following desirable: Autotask, IT Glue, SharePoint, MS SQL.
* MSP industry expertise
* Change auditing and configuration management
* Experience troubleshooting LAN and WAN networks
* CCNA certification or equivalent is desired
* MS MCP, MTA, MCSA, MCSE, VCP certification would be useful
