Back-End Software Engineer
itContracting are currently seeking applicants for a Back-End Software Engineer. This is a daily-rate contract position. The successful candidate will join our client's Global Service Application Development team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities
Our client's Global Services Application Development team develops and delivers world-class software to help drive efficiencies and reduce costs during customer engagements. Our client's flagship cloud application platform implements a microservice architecture in a Pivotal Cloud Foundry PaaS. Our client's products and solutions primarily use Angular single page applications on the front-end and Java/Kotlin Spring Boot microservices on the back-end. Working together within creative, cooperative, highly skilled development squads, you will:
* Join the team in a hands-on role and use modern development methodologies, specifically test-driven-development and continuous delivery
* Collaborate to help refine our client's business requirements and evolve our client's cloud application platform
* Demonstrate a keen sense of urgency and shared ownership of our client's products
Essential Requirements
* Self-Motivated with a willingness to adapt and learn
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies
* Exposure to requirements analysis
* Strong coding and testing skills
* Knowledge of web service technologies (preferably REST/JSON based)
Desirable Requirements
* Experience in Java Server side technologies (preferably Spring based)
* Experience working in a development process employing continuous delivery
* Comfortable with configuration management tools, such as GIT, Gradle and Jenkins
* Knowledge of microservices architecture
