Summary of Role:
Reporting directly to the Development Manager, the Scrum Master is a core member of the Delivery team for new product development and implementation
In this role they will:
Ø Facilitate the agile process for development teams
Ø Work in an agile team environment in the design and execution of payment products
Ø Work on business critical applications, supported by a team of technical and business experts.
Ø Develop and foster teamwork
Ø Gauge team performance and identify areas for growth and improvement
Ø Spot issues early within a SPRINT and take remedial action to get it back on track
Ø Develop a good understanding of the customer business strategy, the business model and priorities.
Ø Translate business requirements into actionable change for fast delivery of technology. Ensure rigour in the process by challenging and validating in the business needs to improve the quality of the deliverables.
Ø Improve the quality of the deliverables and reduce the cost of development by ensuring that business capabilities are clearly communicated and are accurately reflected in the high quality Epics and User Stories.
Responsibilities of the Role:
As an integral part of the Banking Consulting Team, the person will be responsible for running the implementation in Scrum methodology and will be performing the role Scrum master.
Ø Enforce and promote SCRUM disciplines.
Ø Must organize and run daily stand ups.
Ø Promotes healthy team environment and removes impediments
Ø Ensures team is delivering / aligned on project vision and goals
Ø Must keep the IT team focused on sprint plan and support regular reviews.
Ø Work with multiple product owners to write and develop clear, non-implementation specific epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Ø Interview product owners to understand as-is business processes and then develop customer-driven to-be processes.
Ø Support the implementation of pull based system across multiple projects.
Ø Progressively improve our demand side and analysis practices, focusing on waste elimination, demonstrating this improvement with the hard data.
Ø Support and contribute to the metrics driven culture within our function.
Experience and Skills Required
Ø A strong background in financial services and a proven ability to quickly understand the business strategy and objectives
Ø Must have strong understanding of UK payments landscape and real time payments
Ø Significant experience of business analysis in an agile environment
Ø An IT background with solid grounding in technology is essential
Ø Experience of developing high quality user stories and acceptance criteria for multiple business processes having multiple product owners in an organization new to agile development methodology
