JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Solutions Designer to be based at our office in Galway Ireland. This will be a 6 month contract
 
Our technology team is looking for a smart, creative, energetic Solution Designer with proven ability who loves to create business solutions as part of a team of like-minded professionals with an emphasis on getting things done.

You will lead on designing solutions and practices affecting development, testing and delivery of our products. You must be passionate about combining technology and business workflows and practices to deliver value to business stakeholders.

We will depend on your expertise to liaise and advise with Architects, Team Leads and Developers to improve and enhance our systems

The Organisation is a Financial Services Company that specialises in tax refunds, multi-currency payments, credit card processing and point of sale technologies.  Employing over 1000 people worldwide, they provide international shoppers, merchants, card acquirers and banks with an expanding range of services, increasingly leveraging the latest mobile technologies.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong design knowledge of varying Cloud services and architectures (Pas, Iaas, SaaS etc.)
  • Strong experience with .Net framework  and Microsoft full technology stack
  • Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET and JavaScript
  • Knowledgeable in .Net Frameworks 2.0 and 4.5/4.6, Entity framework, WCF experience
  • Good SQL knowledge with database modelling and optimisation
  • Good knowledge of web services and API interaction
  • Strong understanding of Object Orientated Analysis and Design Principals
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS and possible Angular
  • Experience with Source Control Tools, Automated build, TFS, Git, Jira
  • Skills in writing technical documentation.
  • Agile development experience
  • Security awareness and detailed knowledge of OWASP, CORS
  • Knowledge of Micro-services, domain driven design, event sourcing and CQRS
  • Demonstrated experience in both legacy corporate solution architecture approaches as well as experience pivoting to cloud approach while balancing business needs
  • Experience in software design, infrastructure architecture and troubleshooting complex systems
  • Good exposure with high availability and disaster recovery approaches

 SKILLS

  • 5 years+ of experience in a similar position
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Financial services knowledge preferred
  • IT compliance and risk management knowledge (security, privacy, PCI-DSS, GDPR etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of development methodologies, languages, and frameworks
  • Proven ability to assess and recommend application architectures, technologies and vendors, with an understanding of multiple options for architectures
  • Understanding of web, mobile, cloud and API development concepts and design patterns
  • Ability to mentor and drive standards and processes with development teams
  • Knowledge of different cloud infrastructures with proven experience in the design and delivery of web services for systems integration between systems including legacy systems and third parties
  • Experience in data model design, development and optimisation
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills with all level of stakeholders
