Network Design Engineer 

Network Design Engineer position is available to join our clients Network Architecture team in Dublin. You will be responsible for (or contributing to) designing network and infrastructure solutions (Network Security, Routing, Switching, Cisco, LAN/WAN, VLAN, Server, Data Centre) for our external customers. This is developmental role offering the successful candidate huge growth opportunity - ideally into becoming a fully-fledged Solution Architect.

• Responsible for the Technical Delivery of transformational network projects on the Primark account
• Be recognised across the business as a lead expert in his/her own discipline
• Use recognised tools and methodologies for Network Design which impresses Customers in the sales cycle and flexibility for the local Irish Market
• A consultant led role where utilisation is a key measure of success
• Provide internal executive briefings on assurance for complex solutions to management at sign on, midpoint review and sign off
• Spend a high proportion of time customer facing, building executive relationships and industry and/or sector expertise
• Contribute to solutions business improvement projects to drive competitive advantage, efficiency, cost transformation and innovation in design lifecycle
• Work with Head of Technical Services and the Practice Managers to deliver seamless solutions and skills across Design Services
• Provide coaching and support to the Design Services team on architecture strategy, transformation, proposal quality, virtual team management, hybrid models with partners, commercials, profitability, tactics and negotiation
• Contribute to training development and roadmap for the team in line with business strategy including specific mentoring of talented individuals

Essential Criteria

• CCIE qualified or experienced CCNP aspiring to earn CCIE qualification
• Expert on tools and methodologies to create innovative Network Solutions
• Experienced in providing the key network lead role within Major Deals
• Expertise in Global WAN. LAN & WLAN Design for private sector companies with major presence in Ireland
• Expertise in the Irish marketplace – competitive network products and service
• Can demonstrate strategic thinking and thought leadership in Network Design
• Experienced in negotiating with and influencing senior leaders in own business
• Strong technical background across Network Architecture layers – comfortable presenting networks and services as an integrated solution
• Experience in coaching and mentoring people to build a high performance virtual team
• Experience in managing and balancing challenging priorities for Major Bids & Deliveries
• Experience working with national and international business units to create hybrid Solutions and services for Customers
• Evidence of strong long term relationships with Major Customers, multiple Sales Channels and the Solutions organisation
• Can demonstrate dealing with complex Customer issues and escalations
• Experience in transition and transformation thought leadership for Major Customers seeking to reduce costs, remove business risks and improve customer experience

Desirables

• Can demonstrate the creation of comprehensive cost builds and/or inputs for Major Deals
• Good understanding of ITIL and ISO Standards
• Experience in introducing new functionality from major technology vendors such as Cisco to complement the Network design
• Technical Accreditation, CCIE desirable
• Experience across IT, Security, Unified Comms, Contact Centres and Data Centre
