The Opportunity

We are now looking for a React Native Engineer (and outdoor sports enthusiast😊) to be joining the Rotterdam office of a Dutch Startup.

The company

Launched in 2016, the app now has over 2 Million users worldwide. The company started with 3 people and currently they are 10 (doubled in size since last autumn), going from strength to strength, and with fresh round of funding, they are now ready to move to the next level. The app has seen incredible traction, so far more than 20 Million outdoor stories are created; it has already been used by famous professional sportsmen.

Responsibilities

• Partner with frontend and mobile people on integrating features into the app

• Work with product team to execute on new customer experiences

• Work with UX to review designs and concepts and offer suggestions to decrease complexity while maintaining the spirit of the experience

• Offer recommendations for technical enhancements for better performance, scalability, and maintainability

• Come with ideas on areas of improvement in design, implementation, process, tooling, automated testing, quality assurance

• Might mentor less experienced developers

• Remain current on latest technologies seeking to integrate them in solutions where appropriate

Skills

• Experience writing cross-platform apps with React Native

• Knowledge of working on mobile native code on iOS and Android that interfaces with the React Native application

• Experience with multiple JS libraries and frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue, etc.)

• A very good understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs

• Full stack web development and architecture expertise

• Passion for user experience design and usability

• Collaborative and a team player
