Our client is a trusted test development and delivery provider to more than 350 organizations worldwide. They are currently seeking a Network Engineer to join them in their Dundalk office. The role will involve collaborating with other team members and groups to identify and develop scalable network designs, solutions, and policy recommendations. The primary responsibility for this position is to support the organisations European network operations.
The environment includes multiple global call/tech support centres, data centres, satellite offices and test centres. The position requires demonstrated expertise in routing, switching and WAN technologies with an emphasis on VPNs and MPLS.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Support changing network infrastructure.
• Ensure continued smooth operation of the European and global network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot a full range of network related issues across all disciplines
• The successful candidate will be able to switch focus and priority quickly while working
• efficiently implementing and documenting a superior network
• Troubleshoot and design voice over IP (VoIP) solutions
• Work a rotating on-call schedule outside of business hours
• Capable of working on own initiative and as part of a remote team
• Self-starter with the ability to show initiative with minimal supervision
• Support and design enterprise level wireless networks
• Maintain network documentation to a high level
• Work globally on a follow-the-sun team
• Using evolving technology to improve overall network performance while reducing recurring cost
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Cisco routing and switching
• Preferably certified to Cisco CCNP level
• Proficient with LAN network design/implementation, WAN technologies with an emphasis on DMVPN, OSPF and BGP routing, MPLS
• Advanced Cisco routing and switching knowledge
• Experience supporting Cisco Nexus switch technology
• Experience working with Cisco ACI and APIC technologies a distinct advantage
• Experience with Checkpoint firewalls and Juniper Netscreen devices highly desirable
• Proficient with Cisco ASA firewall configuration and deployment
• Experienced in network design and implementation, not just support
• Excellent Visio documentation skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Must understand high level security needs and securities inoperability with data communications
• Ability to "hit the ground running" is a must. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to move focus quickly from task to unrelated task under pressure situations
