They are currently searching for a dynamic Senior Software Engineer to join their Global Device Engineering team in Dublin.
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for design, project planning, and design/development coordination activities for software projects. Typical focus of activities will be in the area of core architecture & design for new and legacy platform technologies. Regularly interfaces with members of product development, supply chain, QA, regulatory, clinical, service and marketing, as well as technical peers.
The incumbent will also manage software projects using the development services of 3rd party organizations. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the proper application of technologies, process and convergent product offerings that ensure the highest quality, most reliable, innovative products on the market. Conducts all activities in compliance with regulatory and company procedures.

• Sustaining engineering support & manufacturing transition project activities - 40%
• New product and legacy development, design - 30%
• New product and legacy development project management activities - 10%
• Coordination and management of engineering design control documents - 10%
• Management of external development/engineering partnerships - 10%
Job Requirements:
• Experience in architecture, design and development of complex sophisticated software-controlled electromechanical devices.
• Experience in inter-processor and device communication ideally.
• User-interface development experience.
• Understanding of hardware specifications and schematics.
• Experience in performing verification and validation planning and execution activities to clearly defined acceptance criteria.
• Must be fluent in Java.
• Experienced in UML, OOA, OOD and OOP.
• Experience using modelling tools, such as Papyrus, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rose or Rational Software Architect, and the Eclipse development IDE desirable.
• BS in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent technical degree with 5+ years of applicable industry experience is required or a MS with 3+ years of applicable industry experience is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience with Medical Device Directive (MDD), ISO 13485, FDA design controls or similar regulatory environment would be highly beneficial.
