We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure manager to join a very well-known government body based in the heart of Dublin city centre. This will be initially a 12-month fixed term contract, with the view of possibly been made permanent.

Responsibilities included:

• ICT Strategic Planning and Implementation for the Authority
• Maintaining high ICT service levels of both ICT suppliers, services and systems to the Authority’s staff and business owners;
• Planning and integrating a wide variety of new systems development projects in the Authority e.g. SharePoint, CRM and BI;
• Promoting ICT as an enabler of productivity and business process improvements;
• Advice and support to key stakeholders and business owners throughout the Authority;
• Management and development and testing of ICT Security;
• ICT resource planning, cost management and budgeting;
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing of ICT systems;
• Liaising with 3rd parties and developing system interfaces with other public-sector bodies;
• Actively identify and exploit shared service opportunities with other public-sector bodies and new initiatives in line with the OGCIO;
• ICT infrastructure planning, consolidation, rationalisation;
• Data Centre and Supplier consolidation;
• Contribute to co-ordinating the PMO (Project Management office) to help deliver internal and externally facing ICT centric projects;
• Project Manage select projects as part of the PMO
• Develop and promote robust project management and system development methodologies for the Authority’s ICT projects;
• Maintain compliance of ICT systems for regulatory purposes, including data protection;
• Document and monitor adherence to ICT Policies and Procedures;
• Maintain the ICT Risk and Asset Registers;
• Defining ICT policies and procedures

Skills required:

• A record of achievement in their career to date, demonstrating management skills including the ability to provide leadership and direction in a complex ICT organisation;
• Experience and knowledge of key technologies in use in the Authority including MS OS, MS Server, MS SQL, SharePoint, MS Dynamics iOS, Android, Citrix, Cisco, LAN/WAN management, SAN storage, VMWare management, virtualisation, cloud hosting and management, website development;
• Ability to network with peers and vendors and develop relationships;
• Ability to lead teams, develop team skills, and influence organisational change;
• Experience of managing competing demands of stakeholders and customers;
• Customer service orientation in relation to Service Management e.g. ITIL;
• Excellent communications skills, proven record in successful proposals for business improvements and experience of resulting change management;
• Excellent knowledge of recent technology developments and roadmaps;
• Prince2 or other project management experience and accreditation.
