Job Title: Android Developer
Location: Dublin City
My client is changing the way we fly by developing software to provide connectivity for in-flight entertainment systems meaning passengers will soon be able to connect their own devices via wifi on a plane.
They currently have a vacancy for an Android Developer so you will have the chance to work with the most modern of technologies on market leading, innovative software and grow your career with a company who are really beginning to take off!
You will be working alongside talented developers at the top of their game on a cross-functional agile team to deliver new features and improvements to their aircraft platform and in-flight entertainment products.
Android Developer Responsibilities:
* Our backend software is primarily built on the JVM and exposes rich RESTful APIs that are consumed by our native mobile clients, our single page web apps and airlines.
* Implementing favourable, responsive layouts that work across the entire Android ecosystem
* Developing, documenting and supporting our new inflight entertainment Android SDK
* Writing software in Java or Kotlin
* Writing unit tests for any complex logic
* Writing automated user interaction tests
* Working within your favourite IDE
* Contributing to our shared devops culture by improving our CI/CD pipelines
* Opportunities to work on full-stack development
* Contributing to our design and software development lifecycles
* Engineering contact for a designated customer
Android Developer Requirements:
* A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field or equivalent practical hands on experience
* 5 years professional experience in a related job using an Agile software lifecycle including TDD, pair programming, short release cycles
* Experience with at least one automation focused scripting language
* Expert knowledge of Java, OO, unit testing, software and UX design patterns
* Experience designing and developing against RESTful API's
* Experience with Gradle
* A desire to embrace Kotlin
