Role Purpose:

To provide Infrastructure solutions support and system administration expertise

Role Scope:

1 Manage key foundational infrastructure components such as Unix, Wintel, databases, Data Centers, networks, monitoring/alerting, systems management
2 Provide Technical Subject Matter Expertise and point of escalation across the breadth of Infrastructure technologies and solutions
3 Input to technical solution architecture and design
4 Delivery of smaller routine projects within Infrastructure, and support of business programmes as appropriate

Key Responsibilities:

1 Responsible for leading the day-to-day support of key elements of our Enterprise operational systems in line with SLAs, and acting as mentor to third parties in these tasks (e.g. Wintel estate, Data Centers, Unix systems, database systems, cisco voice and video systems)
2 Responsible for keeping infrastructure "audit-ready" at all times in line with our system policies
3 Responsible for ensuring that any necessary daily or periodic operational procedures are completed either internally or externally by third party, and assisting in completion of these where appropriate
4 Responsible for continuous Infrastructure operational improvements such as upgrades to ensure continuation of 3rd party support, as well as using a broad understanding of technologies to drive efficiencies within the team
5 Responsible for ensure disaster recovery documents and procedures are kept up to date and for facilitating regular DR tests
6 Act as point of escalation for infrastructure operational issues, problem management issues and root cause analysis
