RESPONSIBILITIES :

* Working with the existing development team including 3rd parties
* Support of existing PHP/Java cloud applications
* Delivery of specified work packages in support of the product development roadmap
* Application development and test
* Observe Policy, documentation and version management policies
* Other related duties as assigned.
* Note: You may need to work on a rota for weekend and on-call cover as required

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* Honours degree in IT, Web Design or Computer Science and 1-2 years of appropriate experience.

* Experience supporting commercial enterprise applications/solutions.

* Experience with Object oriented languages (Java) and associated methodologies

* Database design skills, particularly SQL (MySQL) and JPA.

EXPERIENCE


A minimum of 6 months -2 years' experience working in the development and application support environment. The candidate should be used to working in a team interacting with other technical disciplines and the business managers.

Involvement in specific development projects where there is use of Webservers and web services, database management and queries in support of the application is a key requirement.

An understanding of and ability to implement secure coding practices.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* A sharp mind coupled with a willingness to learn

* Candidate must be able to function at all parts of the software development Life-cycle; from requirements definition to testing.

* Candidate should understand the fundamentals of good software design and should be aware of patterns-based approaches to design.

* Candidate should have an ability to meet delivery milestones while maintaining high quality output.

* Candidate should be able to meet with clients and provide technical input.

* Candidate should have an ability to write and follow appropriate specifications and change requests.

* Candidate should have an ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problem issues.

* Candidate should have an ability to modify and integrate with existing code, in addition to designing and coding new features and modules.

* Experience with the front end (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery) desirable.

TRAINING

Additional training will be provided and funded to enhance skills or address skill gaps.
