To support the continued growth of the company, OpenJaw Technologies is recruiting for the position of a Release and Build Engineer within Global Services Group. This position will be placed based in our Dublin office.
This role will deliver a large project in multiple releases per year to a large customer. The successful applicant will work with the project technical leads to manage the source control tools/processes to support the development life cycle from source control to release into production. The role involves trouble shooting as well as providing a proactive improvement of existing tools and processes.
Role Summary
- An engineer with significant experience in managing a code base in Git, where there are multiple versions of components, branches etc. to be maintained.
- Develop/improve the release and deployment process, tagging, versioning etc.
- Improve processes for implementing and testing Patches via the release/deploy process.
- Improve development processes when dealing with multiple branches.
- Integrate with GitLab/Jira. Manage Continuous Integration/Deployment, and develop automated tests.
- Experience as a Build/Release Engineer in an agile/scrum development environment.
- Monitor and respond to build and merge failures and assist development teams with resolution
- High proficiency in the following technologies - Git, ANT, Jenkins
- Proficiency in a scripting language, preferably Linux
- Management/monitoring of automated test harness nightly runs
- Proficiency in the following - Java, JIRA, Ivy
EXPERIENCE
Experience managing source control environments including branching, code merging, builds, and parallel development
Experience working in Linux and Windows environments and the ability to write Linux shell scripts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organisational skills
Ability and enthusiasm for learning new technologies rapidly
