We have been engaged by a well-established Financial Services organisation in Ireland to lead a Vendor management review programme & the re-negotiation of existing supplier agreements & arrangements.
We are looking for a highly experienced procurement/vendor management consultant with extensive experience & a proven track record in supplier review and a detailed understanding of the process required in reviewing, management and re-negotiation existing suppliers. (The sourcing strategy, RFI/RFP and negotiation work will be led by procurement).
The new Vendor Management function will sit in between a major transformation programme and Procurement, as the programme is dealing with c.20 major suppliers, some of these are already engaged (often multiple contracts with one supplier, which the programme is adding to). Hence a review of all these is required.
Main Responsibilities
You will have had significant experience gained in Vendor management review, with knowledge of Banking products and familiarity with core banking systems/applications. The management thereof, contract re-negotiation and consolidation and be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering commercially focused solutions to ensure the most cost effective approach is instigated in regard to supplier contracts and vendor management.
You will need to be able to fully evaluate the current state, renegotiate contracts and review suppliers, as required across the business and have a proven track record and extensive experience in doing this. You will also set up and run the regular monthly (80% backward performance review, 20% forward planning) supplier meetings/reviews and quarterly forward looking, supplier innovation meetings.
The Ideal Candidate
Ideally candidates would have some experience of dealing with and negotiating with suppliers such as: Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, IBM, Oracle, Experian, Temenos, HID, BAE (Networks) and DNH/Fundtech (Payments).
Knowledge of Banking products and familiarity with core banking systems/applications.
You will need to demonstrate deep Vendor Management expertise and leadership of several complex reviews and re-negotiation of existing Vendors of along with a track record of delivering commercially focused solutions.
You will ideally have worked in the financial services sector, preferably in Banking or as a specialist Consultant within an independent Consultancy organisation, that focuses specifically on Vendor Management/Supplier Management contract re-negotiation. You will either be located in Ireland, or be prepared to be re-locate there.
