System Test Engineer required for 6 month fixed term contract in South Dublin.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead Test Engineer on projects and/or body of work
• Assess & develop test automation to increase testing coverage of products
• Evaluate test systems suitability for test strategy
• Supervise and be accountable for tasks associated with Test
• Report to Test Manager, other Functional Leads and/or Project Manager (internal and external)
• Represent test needs & requirements at project planning meetings
• Competent technically to understand how a system functions and sub-systems work
• Work on testing activities such as: Non-contact sensors e.g., RF sensors, Website, Device Software, Backend, Software Libraries, Firmware, Mobile App (iOS and Android), Conformance & regulatory testing
• Document and track issues and support Engineers to resolve issues and verify fixes
• Implement robust process for capturing issues and resolution thereof
• Define test specifications with input from Technical Leads
• Co-ordinate, develop and deliver test plans
• Co-ordinate test effort to meet goals & tasks within strict timelines
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant BE or BSc Degree qualification in Engineering or Science, or previous professional experience as aQA/Test Engineer
• A passionate, self-motivated, flexible and adaptable individual willing to work on cross functional teams engaging with Hardware, Software and System Design teams, External Customers & Contractors communicating with Functional Leads & Project Teams on Test tasks & strategy
• Five + years or more working experience as a QA/test engineer
• Competent at understanding, analysing and presenting test findings to relevant stake holders
• Maintain standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience essential in: System Test automation e.g. test equipment, Matlab, Labview
• Experience in several but not necessarily all of the following areas: Test scripting e.g. Python, macros, Test tools automation, Non-contact sensors e.g RF sensors, Conformance & regulatory testing, Software testing, Raspberry Pi\Arduino, Agile process, Statistics
• Strong communicator, with good interpersonal skills and a problem-solving approach
• Team player who enjoys collaborating with others and opportunities to learn and to teach
• Always seeks win /win situations - analytical, creative, takes the initiative
• Results oriented – with ability to distinguish between “needs” and “wants”
• Ability to get to the root of technical issues
• Strong planning and organisation skills
