You will be responsible for the following:

* Support and maintenance of business applications
* Oracle & Microsoft SQL Server database management and maintenance
* Linux server support and maintenance
* Analyse errors encountered on applications/systems and determine appropriate action
* Ensure reported errors are resolved
* Develop and maintain application reports (IBM Cognos Report Studio; Custom SQL etc.)
* Compliance with the clients standards for IT comprising daily, weekly and monthly compliance activities
* Document, track and verify implementation of changes to business applications
* Maintain and develop procedures for operational activities
* Communicating with other departments and 3rd party vendors to ensure SLA's are met
* Support required outside normal working hours when critical business application failure occurs only - otherwise no roster for outside normal working hours

Does this sound good to you? If so do you have the following skills and qualifications:

* BSc in Software Engineering or related
* Knowledge of Windows Server, UNIX/Linux and Microsoft Office applications
* Good command of SQL
* A good understanding of the Visual Basic, VBScript, VB.Net or C# languages
* Familiarity with ASP.net, HTML advantageous
* Ability to troubleshoot application issues through a combination of transaction review, error log review & database interrogation.
* Able and willing to learn complex business processes
* Ability to work collaboratively across project teams
* Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate work
