A client of ours, a hotel group company is looking for a Head of IT to join their team.

If so, we can’t wait to hear from you. Our organisation has a requirement for a CTO / Head of IT who can provide technical leadership and training to the rest of the company. The ideal candidate will have an organised and creative mind-set that drives him or her to find innovative solutions to common problems.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Ensuring consistently operational support, being on call 24/7, for all internal hotel IT systems and users, minimizing any system outages.
  • Handling, efficiently and completely, IT issues that occur.
  • Identifying current and future system needs and provide solutions.
  • Evaluating business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department. Implementing and managing departmental processes and procedures to ensure strategies and directives of department are carried out and in accordance with department and company objectives.
  • Overseeing development and administration of the IT Department.
  • Managing third party relationships; identifying primary vendors, negotiating and monitoring quality and cost of services.
  • Ensuring business plan is being followed and goals are being achieved and provides feedback accordingly.
  • Operating within established CAPEX and OPEX budgetary parameters.
  • Manage Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and backup for all hotels. 
  • Provide a high level of IT customer service to hotel guests and staff.
  • Member of Senior Management Team reporting to the General Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years as an IT Manager in a hotel environment
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Proven experience with VMWare and Hyper-V
  • IT degree preferred
  • Technical IT support to Hotel Marketing through web site, social media etc.
  • Proven experience with data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service focused, serving guests and colleagues
  • Passion for both hospitality and technology
  • Ability to take a leadership role, work under pressure and high levels of self-motivation
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting remote sites
  •  "Can do" attitude to keep the IT infrastructure working in an isolated environment which may include work of a physical nature
