ICT Service Transition Manager

Daily Rate contract - Estimated Duration - 6 months
Job Purpose
The role is to support and represent the Service Management team during the delivery of a Major Network Transformation Project to ensure there is a seamless transition throughout the duration of the project.

The role requires working closely with project managers and senior service delivery managers. 
The jobholder will be expected to adapt quickly to, and contribute to an evolving service introduction methodology deployed on this account.
Responsible for ensuring that services and completed projects are introduced into live operations in a controlled and standardized manner. Responsible for managing the transition of existing services or in flight projects into live operations.
Accountable for developing and enforcing operability standards to ensure that the project or service is business operable prior to its transition into live operations.


Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
· manage the transition of system from project phase into Business as Usual
· Managing the specified acceptance criteria for service acceptance, operational, release and service readiness review throughout the project life cycle;
· Identifying and managing all service related risks and issues to new and existing services throughout the life cycle of the project
· Ensuring a consistent and seamless approach to service transition
· Ensuring all Capability and service teams are aware, prepared and capable of supporting any new services
· Ensuring all service management requirements are understood by project teams and project delivered to the agreed product output at each gateway
· Identify all service related risks and issues and ensure they are managed
· responsible for creating and reviewing deliverable to achieve plan, Non Functional Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, Warranty Agreements, Acceptance report, SLA
· attend and contribute to relevant project and programme boards and steering groups on behalf of service delivery
· carry out an impact, evaluation and risk assessment of new projects from a service delivery perspective
· identify and manage operational risks resulting from change and identify service readiness activities and ensure they are in place for go-live
· Build strong relationships with vendor suppliers and business stakeholders to ensure services are delivered to plan.
· Liaise with project and programme teams to ensure the correct process and governance is followed
· Be an advocate of ITIL best practice processes within the business.• Facilitating identification of the right resources to lead different parts of the transition.
• Project managing the transition process on behalf of customer ensuring transition plan, timetable, systems readiness, knowledge capture and transfer, process documentation, transition sign off, risk review and management, service provider capability and IT systems requirements are coordinated in an effective manner.
· Ensuring effective project, stakeholder and change management tools and processes are in place and that these are used effectively throughout the transition.
· Coordinating communications and stakeholder management to ensure successful delivery of the transition in line with the plan.• Establishing Governance framework to manage performance, relationship and controls.
• Establishing review mechanism to include performance, compliance, risk and transition milestone review.
• Ensuring that a robust monitoring process is implemented and rigor is established to resolve process inefficiencies, and capture lessons learned in the deployment phase.
• Ensuring that all necessary analysis – both user requirements, and system requirements, is completed
• changes to Operations and Technical Support working practices and procedures, are effectively and efficiently transferred from Development and QA.
· Represent the Services function in projects/solutions/vendor that are introducing a new IT service or changing an existing IT service.
· Identify any risks or deficiencies within a new or changed service. Ensure these are documented, assessments are performed, and mitigation's implemented or risks accepted before service take on.
· Ensure Service Management and support processes are adopted so that the new or changed IT service operates appropriately and is fully supportable.
· Champion service and challenge senior stakeholders where unacceptable product risk is being proposed.
· Ensure all individuals involved with planning, project, and change activities are aware of their roles and responsibilities within Service Introduction.
