My clients requires motivated and enthusiastic people with Linux or UNIX experience to join their growing team in Tralee. If successful, you will be part of an energetic team of engineers and administrators who are responsible for the servers and support tools which form a key part of the infrastructure which underpins their business.
You will work as part of a global team to ensure system availability, stability and project delivery. Other key areas are automation and performance tuning.
This is a senior role requiring extensive experience in one of the areas outlined below.
What we require of you
• Operating system engineering (Linux)
• RPM based Linux distributions
• RAC
• PowerPath, Multipath
• kickstart, cobbler
• System performance assessment and OS tuning
• Scripting (bash, ksh, nsh, python, perl)
• Integrate new technologies into environment working directly with the Architecture teams
• Produce and maintain internal knowledgebase articles
• Service application and infrastructure requests
• Provide expertise during critical issue response
• On-call and out of hours support on rotation
• A valid passport and ability to travel to the USA
About you
• Common sense attitude
• Good communicator (we work globally so strong written and verbal skills are an absolute requirement)
• Have experience in a similar position (5+ years)
• Solid understanding of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems
• Proven troubleshooting skills and analytical mind set
• Team orientated and happy to reach out for assistance or assist others
• Automation/scripting experience is highly desirable
• Experience supporting Oracle RAC highly desirable
• Experience with enterprise storage (EMC) and networking (Cisco)
• Experience training/mentoring junior staff advantageous
