Senior Enterprise Architect – Contract
Description:
The Senior Enterprise Architect is a member of an IT governance team responsible for establishment, maintenance, and execution of common cross-sector processes. The core team of senior architects will act as thought leaders and subject matter experts in architecture, providing a common process framework across all business sectors, as well as support for process execution.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the Agile Development Architecture Program:
• Lead in defining the role of architecture in agile development, working with the lines of business to understand the current state and map out a path for maturation of the processes
• Implement an ongoing enterprise-wide forum for architecture practitioners in agile development to enable sharing of experiences, development of common approaches and identification of best-practices
• Generate actionable metrics for senior management, auditors, and regulators.
• Modernize Application Inventory to Reflect Webscale Application Architecture
• Define models of application architecture that reflects the modular nature of composite applications including, but not limited to, 12-factor application constructs
• Manage required changes to application inventory tools
• Drive changes to existing inventory to reflect the new view of application architecture
• Manage Technology Strategy Through Architecture Review Process
• Revise and refine architecture review procedures to drive adoption of the businesses 5-year technology strategy
• Coordinate review activities across lines of business to ensure a consistent approach to adoption of the strategy
• Generate actionable metrics for senior management, auditors, and regulators.
Qualifications:
• At least 7 years experience in technology, including two or more of the following aspects: development, engineering, architecture, risk management, administration, and operations
• Have experience in agile development, either as an architect or as a lead developer
• Have experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production. The impact of full project scope experience should lead the architect to make better architecture process decisions, and better inform the trade-offs made in those decisions
• Familiarity with 12-factor application concepts, including microservices
• Familiarity with cloud concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, API-based application design, etc.
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as good team building skill
• Have experience dealing with nationally and internationally diverse organizations
• Skilled at consensus building when dealing with multiple stakeholder communities in a matrixed reporting environment
• Must have the ability to be collaborative and supporting of groups outside of the EA team
• A comprehensive knowledge of all architectural domains: business, application, data, and infrastructure
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards or best practices in architecture process.
• Demonstrated experiences with EA frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman a plus
• Experience in financial services/banking industry
