Head of IT Development
An exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to develop, manage and influence major changes to my client's IT infrastructure & long term strategy.
Key Responsibility:
- Select, design & implement major changes to firm's data and IT infrastructure
- Design and implement effective processes
- Manage vendors on a daily basis
- Ensure data provided to other business stakeholders is accurate & robust
- Ensure architecture and operational services meet business standards & deliver value
- Work with other business functions to ensure design of IT systems meets requirements
- Develop service level KPIs and ensure compliance
- Design and manage disaster recovery protocols
- Agree and manage budget and spend
- Identify gaps in department and hire suitable staff to address
- Design and implement gold standard software development practices
- Identify, design, develop and test tools that can add value to the business
- Q.A design and testing processes for new tools built by junior members of the team
- Q.A existing systems and code
Requirements
- Appropriate qualifications to BSc or MSc level;
- 5+ year in either a software development or I.T infrastructure role in a large corporation
- Understanding of the following languages and technologies is necessary:
Python, Java, PostgreSQL, Structured Query Language (SQL) - Experience with the following languages and technologies is advantageous:
- Amazon Web Services and C++
- Excellent data design and development experience
- Strong communication & team management
- Ability to lead through a hands-on approach
- An ambition to develop a department that meets the organisations requirements & long term strategy
